I love to explore my environment no matter where I am, from my own back yard, to the mountains of Alaska, to the side streets of Prague and everywhere in between. I look for something interesting to document and preserve with my camera and then share my vision with the rest of the world.
While I like to capture the perfect “postcard shot” wherever I visit, I also like to look up, look down, and zoom in to find other less obvious shots that capture the beauty of my surroundings. Sometimes this could be something as simple as the way a wet rock glistens in the afternoon sun or the abstract shadows of an abandoned piece of machinery. I try to mirror the reality of what I saw when I was there, so that the image is an authentic representation of the experience.
I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated with a BFA from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. After living in Kansas City for 10 years, I recently moved back to Omaha, along with my dog, Ringo. I also enjoy watercolor painting and am working on a series inspired by my trips abroad.
